Rates & FAQ
Ok, down to the nitty gritty of what you need to know before we start working together.
Still have questions? Contact me or go ahead & schedule your free 30-minute intro call! I’m always happy to answer any questions you may have before we begin working together.
Individual Therapy
50-minute session
$250
This is the typical length of a regularly scheduled appointment. All appointments are virtual & held through a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.
60-minute intake session
$300
This session is most common in your first appointment to give us a little extra time to assess your strengths & needs, as well as review policies, expectations, & answer questions.
Couple’s Intensives
Starting at 60 minutes
$360+
For couples looking for short-term, targeted support through the process or immediately following a termination for medical reasons (TFMR). Typically, I meet with couples 2-4 times total & these sessions can be scheduled with some flexibility regarding frequency, length of session, &/or number of sessions (subject to availability). These sessions can be done independently or in addition to individual therapy in which any member of a couple may already be participating. Additionally, if one member of the couple would like to continue in longer term individual work with me, we can work together to make that transition as smooth as possible, including finding referrals for other providers for the other person in the couple. All appointments are virtual & held through a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.
Virtual TFMR Support Group
$450 ($75/session)
Series of 6 weekly 90-minute sessions offered 2-4 times/year. At least one sliding scale spot reserved in each group for folks who cannot afford the full group rates. Group is held virtually using a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform & all group participants are screened in advance.
Clinical Supervision
Group Supervision
$75/hour
FORMING NOW! Supervision groups for LMSWs in Texas & LSWs/CSWs in Colorado will be virtual & available twice a month for 2 hours, 11am-1pm MT / 12-2pm CT on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month. Groups offer uniquely valuable opportunities & are my preferred supervision method. Fill out my contact form &/or schedule your free consultation if you are interested in supervision with me.
Individual Supervision
$100/hour
Texas LMSWs will meet individually at least once per quarter (or more often, if preferred). Colorado LSWs/SWCs will meet individually for half of their required supervision hours. Fill out my contact form &/or schedule your free intro call if you are interested in supervision with me.
FAQs
-
For individual therapy, I am licensed only to work with clients who are physically in Texas, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, or South Carolina at the time of our appointment.
For support groups, as these are different from the clinical work of therapy, I can include participants from anywhere in the US.

Like most specialty providers, I do not accept insurance & am not in network with any insurance provider.
This allows my clients the most confidential & flexible experience in therapy. Paying out-of-pocket means that your health insurance provider is not involved with your care at all & has no access to your records.
-
It depends (frustrating, I know).
Based on your individual health insurance plan you may be eligible to use out-of-network insurance benefits to reimburse you for mental health services. Please note that in order to file any claim with your insurance provider, you will need a diagnosis & some other information that I will be able to provide.
To see if you qualify for reimbursement, you can check your benefits below the FAQs, right on this webpage, or else follow the link here. I always recommend calling your insurance provider directly, as well, to confirm your plan’s benefits, the allowed amount for OON therapy services, & your reimbursement rate.
Note: Mentaya's goal is to save you time & money. It's completely optional, & as your therapist I do not benefit in any way from your participation.

Every insurance provider handles this a little differently, but if your plan offers reimbursement for out-of-network (OON) services, basically you will need to file claims directly with your insurance provider. Most offer this through an online portal or by mail.
If you’d like to file claims, there are two ways we can handle it:
I provide you with monthly superbills that you may submit yourself directly to your insurance provider.
You sign up with Mentaya, a platform I work with that can file those claims & handle the insurance paperwork on your behalf to make sure you get reimbursed. I cover the charges for this service so this is available at no additional cost to you. You can sign up using this link.
Whether you choose to file OON claims yourself or use Mentaya will mostly depend on your capacity for extra steps. If the process is easy & simple enough for you to comfortably file for yourself, then great! More power to you. If the idea of interacting with your insurance company for even one second longer than you must utterly exhausts you, let Mentaya do the heavy lifting & know that I’ll cover the associated fees.
Note: Mentaya's goal is to save you time & money. It's completely optional, & as your therapist I do not benefit in any way from your participation.

Yes, I maintain a limited number of sliding scale spots on my caseload through Open Path Psychotherapy Collective. Open Path clients cannot afford market rates for therapy, are uninsured or underinsured, and have an annual household income below $100,000. These appointments are available at a rate of $70 for a 50-minute session (longer sessions for an increased fee available upon request).
If you would like to request a sliding scale spot, you may begin either with your Open Path membership eligibility or with contacting me to confirm a sliding scale spot is available. Before your first appointment or during your intro call, I will confirm your Open Path membership number.
For more information about Open Path’s eligibility, membership, & directory, see their client FAQ.
If I do not have a sliding scale spot available, I am happy to make referrals to other clinicians who may accept your insurance or offer sliding scale.

I offer a free 30-minute intro call with all potential new therapy clients & support group participants. This gives us the chance to get to know each other, answer any questions, & see if we might be a good fit to work together before making any commitment.
Here’s what you can expect on that call:
I’ll ask you about yourself & for what you are seeking support.
I’ll tell you a bit about myself, my services, & my approach.
You can ask me any questions that I didn’t cover.
We’ll talk about rates, insurance, scheduling availability, etc.
If we both decide we're a good fit after our intro call, we'll schedule our first therapy appointment &/or hold your place in my next support group. I'll follow up by sending you some intake paperwork to complete electronically.
-
Our first therapy session will begin with some housekeeping. We will start out by reviewing the intake paperwork you completed, including discussing my practice policies you’ve agreed to & answering any questions that you may have. This is helpful in getting us both on the same page & easing into our session, especially if you are coming in with any (natural & understandable) nerves.
From there, I typically offer clients options about how to proceed, including letting you tell your story or moving into me asking you some questions about your experiences, history, & current circumstances. I really value collaborating with my clients & want to support you to feel comfortable & focus on what needs our attention in the moment. There’s no rush & we will build on whatever we learn in each session we spend together.
After the first few sessions, once we’ve got to know each other & established some trust, we will work together to identify some goals for our time together. Goals help to guide our work, mark your progress, & stay focused on your highest-priority needs. No need for you to come into our work being able to articulate what you want to accomplish. I’ll take whatever you bring to session & help you figure it out.
-
I meet with most of my clients on a weekly basis. I ask that all new clients commit to meeting weekly for at-least the first 3 months so that we can focus on your most immediate needs, build momentum, & get you feeling better quickly.
Every few months I review progress, goals, & feedback with each client & this can be an opportunity to review frequency of appointments, though clients are always welcome & encouraged to bring up such issues at any time.
-
Everyone is different & I can confidently say that I’ve never before worked with someone “forever.” The majority of my clients work with me for 6-12 months.
I also have clients who choose to remain in therapy for much longer. They have made great progress already & may still appreciate ongoing support as their lives, needs, & goals change.
